Weather in Larnaca

Larnaca (or Larnaka) is a city on the south-eastern coast where the island’s main airport, the Larnaca International Airport, is located. Larnaca also has a commercial port and is popular as one of the tourist resorts. The city of Larnaca is known for its beautiful seafront lined with rows of palm trees. To the west of Larnaca, near the airport, there are salt lakes where in early winter and spring you can see many migratory flamingos.

Larnaca lies at one of the lowest altitude points with elevation just 1 meter above the sea level. Like the other coastal cities, weather in Larnaca is influenced by the nearby sea making summers here less hot than inland. The average temperature for July and August, the hottest months of the year, is 32°C-33°C which is 4°C-5°C less than inland. On average the coldest months of January and February see temperatures as high as 17°C at daytime and as low as 7°C at night which are 1°C-2°C warmer than inland.
