Unusually low temperatures are changing how most people view a long mid-August holiday weekend in Cyprus, with rain likely coming into the picture Saturday afternoon and humidity staying high.

On Saturday and Sunday, there is a chance of isolated showers or even thunderstorms up in the mountains as well as other areas at lower elevations, according to Weather Services.

Saturday temperatures reached 37 degrees inland and 32 on the west coast, while other coastal areas peaked at 34 and mountains only saw 29.

More clouds will form by Monday while Tuesday weather is expected to be clear.

There will be a noticeable drop in temperature on Tuesday, according to Weather Services, but humidity still remains high over the next few days.

A thin mist and low clouds will set during evening hours and early mornings over the holiday weekend.

However, this is not expected to obstruct your view of the ongoing perseid meteor shower show currently playing in the dark skies, near you, as long as you pick a dark spot, really late and away from urban light pollution.
