Cyprus could be in for stormy weekend

Weather conditions will worsen over the next two days with temperatures set to fall even further, according to the latest forecast.

A low pressure system that is affecting the area is responsible for the current cooler conditions while Sunday will see temperatures picking up again as the low pressure system moves out of the region.

The Meteorological Services say Friday will remain partly cloudy with localised rain and isolated showers, in some area accompanied by thunder and perhaps hail. Temperatures are expected to reach 24’C inland and along the south coast, 23’C along the remaining coastal areas and 9’C in the mountains.

Saturday will be partly cloudy in the morning with the possibility of rain and perhaps even hailstorms again.

Sunday will be mainly fine, with periodic increases in cloud cover which could bring rain to mountainous areas. Monday promises to be fine with increased cloud cover during the afternoon hours.
