Police have warned of treacherous weather conditions in the mountain areas of Cyprus, with roads having been closed due to snow and fog.

The hazardous conditions has forced police to close the Platres-Troodos, Karvouna-Troodos and Prodromos-Troodos roads.

A wave of bad weather arrived in Cyprus on Monday, with storms blasting many parts of the island.

Even the popular resort of Ayia Napa was lashed by rain and hail this morning.

The unsettled weather is expected to continue until mid-week.
