The road to Skarinou was cut off on Thursday afternoon due to torrential rains in Larnaca district.
The rains came down the Pentaschinos river and flooded roads in Ayios Theodoros, police said.
Moreover, according to Fire Service deputy director Marcos Tragkolas, the fire brigade, disaster response unit EMAK and the Larnaca District Administration have so far responded to nine calls in Ayios Theodoros, Mazotos, Anglisides and other communities.
The teams are continuing to pump water from basements and flooded roads and drains which are blocked due to the heavy rain and branches and other debris.
Tragkolas said that he has called in off-duty EMAK personnel to help.
